Quality of drinking water is of immense importance and water treatment has become the most laborious and costly component in water supply engineering all over the world.
That is mainly because surface water bodies are being badly polluted due to unavoidable adverse effects of human dimension in urbanization, industrialization, wastes mismanagement, deforestation and reclamation of flood planes for settlements etc.
The invention, NWPP, introduces a water treatment plant of novel techniques of water purification through natural bio manipulation with out adding chemicals in to water.
In this technique, water flow after sand bed filtration is directed in to a pond of water purification through bio manipulation. A balanced ecosystem with selected aquatic plant species and fish is maintained in the pond and again slow sand filtered in to a tank and pumped out for necessary aeration and distribution. Operation & Maintenance of the system is half automatic and the filters can be back washed easily.
Gravity filters are used and there is no labor required except for pumping out ultimately and the biomass accumulates in the pond has to be removed periodically for an effective functioning of the ecosystem in the pond for natural up taking of hardness and other hazarding agents by plant species.
